For our latest edition of #TechTuesday our Customer Services Officer, Dom reviews the Alto 2 Talking Mobile Phone.
- Is the phone easy to use?
Compares to todays complicated smartphones the Alto 2 talking phone is very simple to use. It has large buttons and clear navigation using audio prompts.
- Is the phone of high quality?
It is not as advanced as a smartphone but the Alto is well made, durable and made from high quality parts.
- Who is the product aimed at?
The phone is aimed at anybody with a visual impairment who is looking for a smartphone alternative with basic features.
- What are the pros and cons of the product?
The biggest advance is the phones relatively cheap price tag compared to its competition. Smartphones are very expensive to purchase and normally require additional apps or features to be downloaded to improve accessibility.
The audible voice is also very loud and clear so perfect for anyone who also has hearing troubles.
The phone is not a smartphone so unfortunately only offers basic features with no ability to surf the web or download third party apps.
- What alternatives are available, and how do they measure up?
There are not many talking telephones currently on the market.
- Is the product worth the money?
At £125 the phone is a very affordable option.
