Susan – Liskeard
Susan, from Liskeard, found technology daunting and thought that being visually impaired would mean that she would never be able to get the hang of it. But after receiving an iPad through the fund and having some lessons with the Assistive Technology Advisor at iSightCornwall, Susan is enjoying being connected to the online world.
“Everything is online these days from shopping and banking to keeping in touch with friends and family more easily. Having the iPad is making a big difference to me. I’ve been able to send emails for the first time, search the internet and download audio books. I’ve even joined groups on Facebook for people with visual impairments where I’ve picked up some useful information. All of this was a lot easier than I thought it would be and has given me so much more independence.”
