A Night with iSight at The Poly, Falmouth
August 4, 2016 9:18 amWe are very pleased to announce, in association with The Poly in Falmouth ‘A Night with iSight’. On Thursday 18 August, we will be hosting a special audio-enhanced screening of the nationally acclaimed film ‘Notes on Blindness’. Arrival drinks will be served from 18:30.
The film which premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival was recently screened at Newlyn Filmhouse and proved to be a hit.
Prior to the showing of the film, Terri Rosnau-Ward (iSightCornwall Chief Executive) will be sharing her own experience of living with sight loss with members of the audience.
This critically acclaimed “inspiring docudrama” described by The Telegraph as “one of the most eye-opening documentaries you’ll see all year” follows author and academic John Hull’s experience of sight loss.
This enhanced audio version of the film contains narration from John and his wife Marilyn, along with extra sound design and music. It evokes the action, rather providing a literal description.
After losing sight, John Hull knew that if he did not try to understand blindness it would destroy him. In 1983 he began keeping an audio diary. Over three years, John recorded over sixteen hours of material, a unique testimony of loss, rebirth and renewal.
