What is Gaming for Good?
Gaming for Good is when individuals or teams raise money for good causes through playing video games. Typically, people also record themselves when they are playing and broadcast it live for others to watch online.
What we’re doing
iSightCornwall team member and visually impaired gamer, Dom will be taking to Twitch to stream his gameplay in hopes of raising money for the charity as well as awareness about what it’s like to game as a VI player!
He’ll be discussing the features in a game that can cause challenges as well as those that can assist – all whilst trying to raise money for iSightCornwall! Dom will be joined by his iSightCornwall colleague Beth who will be reading out the comments and questions left by viewers in the chat.
How to get involved
Dom and Beth usually stream every other week on Twitch (click the link to open in a new tab). To keep up to date with what games the pair will be playing each week or to get reminders when they are going live, sign up here:
We also have a mailing list for those who would like to receive a reminder via email about every stream, sign up here:
As well as raising awareness, the iSightCornwall team are hoping to raise some money to help keep our vital services running. You can donate by visiting our JustGiving page here (click to open in a new tab).
What we’ve been up to so far
The first stream was a big success, with more than 100 views on the video on Twitch, plenty of questions answered and some generous donations. Check out the video below:
