#TechTuesday – Talking Food Thermometer

For our latest edition  of #TechTuesday our Customer Services Officer, Dom reviews the Talking Thermometer:

• What does the product do?

The talking thermometer announces the temperature of food at the touch of a button.

• Is the product easy to use?

The talking thermometer could not be easier to use, simply insert the 12.5cm probe into an item of food and press the large yellow button to hear your reading.

• Is it of a high quality?

The thermometer is made of high quality material and comes supplied with a protective sleeve that can be placed around the probe when not in use.

• Who is the product aimed at?

The product is aimed at any visually impaired person who is active in the kitchen. As the thermometer is so easy to use, it can be used by people of all ages.

• What are the pros and cons of the product?

The product is great because it is so easy to use. The temperature reading can be announced in both Fahrenheit and Celsius and is spoken in a clear female voice. There is also an additional LCD screen which displays the temperature in 42 point probe.

I can not think of any cons, the product does what it is intended to do extremely well!

• What alternatives are available, and how do they measure up?

I am unsure if there are any other talking thermometers on the market designed specifically for the visually impaired.

• Is the product worth the money?

If you are a visually impaired person who wants to stay active in the kitchen, I think this product is perfect!
