Bird in Hand raise £2,500 for local causesJanuary 28, 2019 12:06 pm
A full house danced the night away at the “Best Christmas Gig Ever” charity event at the Bird in Hand, Hayle. A number of fantastic local bands took to the stage including Caine, The Sandy Acre 7, The Mosquitos, M-Rutt, Rosie Crow, The Sacrificials, Holiday Ghost, Good, Bad and the Ugly, O’Deus & Bastard and DJ Big Vern Burns.
A total of £2,500 was raised at this year’s gig with £1,500 donated to iSightCornwall and £500 each going to Hayle Carnival and Hayle Christmas Lights.
Nick Reynolds, landlord of the Bird in Hand, said “I just can’t thank everyone enough who turned out in support. The bands, volunteers, staff and all the people who came for a night out at the Bird In Hand and our neighbours. I am immensely grateful and delighted we raised so much money for these 3 brilliant causes which are close to our heart here at the Bird”.
Terri Rosnau-Ward, Chief Executive of iSightCornwall, said “We are extremely grateful to Nick, Neal and all those involved for putting on such a great show. The music was fantastic and I have to give a special shout-out to our acting-chair, Christian Wilson, for performing a set along with his band! Every penny raised will go to helping visually impaired people across the county. If you are looking for a night to remember, be sure to purchase tickets to the new big Christmas gig!”
