iSightCornwall Launches Fundraising Campaign with the help of clients

iSightCornwall, Cornwall’s sight loss charity, has launched a brand new campaign to help raise vital funds to help people in Cornwall.

The pandemic, lockdowns and social distancing measures have all seen a great reduction in fundraising opportunities and donations for the charity and the team have so far been surviving on the charity’s savings to support their work.
To help turn this around the team has launched a new campaign which is asking people to ‘see the difference, be the difference.’

‘See the difference. Be the difference’ message

The message launched on radio, in print, on social media and on posters around Cornwall this week and the team are hopeful that the adverts will help to spread the word of what iSightCornwall does, how much it helps people in the county and inspire people to want to help.
To help share the message of what iSightCornwall means to people in Cornwall, the campaign has involved real clients who have shared their views, their feedback and even their photographs and voices within the adverts themselves.

iSightCornwall Clients involved

A young man sits in front of a mic inside a radio booth which is branded with Pirate FM's purple colours and logo. Opposite him, on the operative's side is another man who is looking at a screen and pushing a button,

Haydn Uren, who has been supported by iSightCornwall since he was a young boy, said: “It was fantastic to be asked to

be involved. I loved getting to visit Pirate FM as I’m a huge fan and I’m really excited to hear the adverts when they go live.”

Some clients spent the morning in the booth at Pirate FM, recording their voices and real feelings towards iSightCornwall for a series of adverts which will run on the station, whilst others took part in a photoshoot and interview to capture their views for the more visual adverts.

The message of the adverts is encouraging people to help make a difference to those with sight loss in Cornwall. The charity aim to help people with any level of sight loss in the county, and have been doing so since they were created in 1856, but they rely on donations to be able to do this.

Support of the community

Chief Executive, Carole Theobald, explained: “We really cannot do what we do without the support of people in the community. iSightCornwall has held a unique place in Cornwall for over 167 years. But the past few years have been full of challenges and uncertainty.

“As a small charity, it can be tough to make our voice heard amongst so many other local worthy causes but now is the time for us to shout louder. We are calling on the public to ‘See the difference. Be the difference’ and will be showing potential donors the incredible difference they could make to people with sight loss and the peace of mind they will get from knowing that their money goes to a great local cause.”
